PhD position on Nanostructured Electrodes within the Martí i Franquès program

We are looking for a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our research team at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) in Tarragona, Spain, under the supervision of Prof. Josep Ferré-Borrull. The selected candidate will work on the research on technologies for nanostructuring electrodes in energy storage applications.

Research Focus

The project aims at investigating the technologies to produce nanostructured electrodes using nanoporous anodic alumina (NAA) as a template. The research will combine technology develpoment, electrode production and energy storage deveice preparation and characterization.

Key topics include:

– Electrochemical processes to prepare nanostructured samples
– Good knowledge of characterization techniques: SEM, Potentiostat
– Data analysis skills

Candidate Profile

We seek a motivated and curious researcher passionate about renewable energy and materials science.

Requirements include:

  • MSc degree (or equivalent) in Physics, Chemistry, Electronic Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
  • Proficiency in English
  • Strong background in electrochemistry
  • Experience in laboratory work and data analysis and interpretation
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in an international team
