PhD position within the Martí i Franquès program

We are looking for a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our research team at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) in Tarragona, Spain, under the supervision of Prof. Osbel Almora. The selected candidate will work on the development, characterization, and modeling of organic solar cells.
Research Focus
The project aims to advance the understanding of physical mechanisms governing the performance and stability of organic solar cells, combining experimental techniques with physical modeling and data analysis.
Key topics include:
- Device fabrication and characterization
- Electrical and optical measurements
- Degradation and stability analysis
- Interface engineering and defect physics
- Data-driven modeling and simulation of device behavior
Candidate Profile
We seek a motivated and curious researcher passionate about renewable energy and materials science. Requirements include:
- MSc degree (or equivalent) in Physics, Chemistry, Electronic Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
- Proficiency in English, Spanish or Catalan
- Strong background in semiconductor physics and/or photovoltaic devices
- Experience in laboratory work, data analysis, or device simulation
- Good communication skills and ability to work in an international team
